So, Matt hasn't been home more than a few hours in the last few days. He's been trying to fix our van with my dad, the mechanic. He's even been sleeping there because he was too tired to drive the 20+ minutes home. He is such a hard worker, but boy have I missed him! Even if he is working somewhere else around the house, I still feel that warm place in my heart that knows he is near.
My girls are wonderful, my boys are too. These girls are so loving and kind and gentle, and then they get around each other and it's like someone pushed the "turbo mass chaos button", sending squeals of unhappiness, and the poking and pulling of hair begins at rapid speeds! I thought I was doing quite well without Matt, until the stress of asking the girls to pick up their room began. I heard them, ignored them while taking deep breaths, and waited for the tattling to begin while I did dishes. Joseph, our sweet little peace maker quietly came down the stairs and told me that he could hear them yelling at each other, and crying. *Insert-One more deep breath. I finally smiled smugly and turned to Joseph, "Joseph" I said, "What do YOU think I should do about them?" *Insert-Quiet thoughtfulness and a deep breath from him. "Mom" He began then paused...(I was hopeful for some inspiration...you know, out of the mouth of babes?)"I don't know" then turned around to play with Kimball. Do any of us? So I climbed the stairs distraught and disturbed, and when they both started on the complaining of the other, a thought came to my mind...Just separate them. So I did, I switched Kimball and Becca's bedding and all the clothes in their drawers, and then came downstairs, waiting for more. Nothing. Quiet. Oh no, what happened? So I climb the stairs again, only to hear coming from down the hall, the two girls playing, laughing and smiling and happy to be around each other! What joy! What utter relief!
Matt called, I told him what I had just done, very excited-like. His response, "Don't you think that's avoiding the problem?" "Exactly!" I say. They even hollered Good night multiple times to each other tonight! I love the Holy Ghost!
