Rebecca got three parts in the Christmas play for her school this year! She worked so hard and had them all memorized the day after she had received them! Then she got sick and missed all of the practices but one. She would lay down for a nap and ask me, "What if I forget my part?" I had to get very creative and tell her all sorts of nap time stories about "Super Becca" and how she practiced with daddy and things. My worry was that she wouldn't even participate. For her Halloween program she stood there firmly resolved not to sing at all. We practiced EVERY day, even Kimball heard it so much he would start to say it along with her! Then when the big day came, she did BEAUTIFULLY! She smiled, did her actions and wasn't quiet or shy when she did her solo part either! I thought it was a pretty big undertaking for these two elderly ladies (who happened to have a degree in performing arts) to put on a play with a bunch or 4 and 5 year olds! I was so proud of her! I know it built her confidence to learn that she could do hard things!
