Escalante

This last weekend, we went on a trip to Escalante, Utah for a family reunion. I cannot believe how pleasant everything went. It's little trips like this, that make it feel like heaven on Earth. We went hiking around Posie Lake, to the Parade, watched fireworks, had a Comedy Night, rode a mechanical bull (or Electric Buffalo-whichever you prefer...hehe), went to a carnival, went dancing with Matt, and gained a couple of pounds from all of the good food! The kids were so sad to leave, that they hid in the attic, trying to keep us from going home.
Yesterday, as I was talking about the boys that helped carry the handcart pioneers across the river, Becca stopped me and thoughtfully replied..."Mom, I could picture Weston doing that! In fact I can picture all of them doing that!" (referring to Matt's cousin's three boys) Kimball was enamored with Victoria, and I came away with a great sense of joy knowing they have great family members to look up to and pattern their own lives after! It was a peaceful weekend, with the kids on their best behavior (for the most part) and just a great feeling abounding!
