We went to the Children's Rodeo at This is the Place. It was SOOO much fun for the kids! They had stick horse barrel racing, and a mutton bust. Rebecca and Joseph did the mutton bust twice, and after some coercing Elena tried it one time (which for her is a real feat). Kimball was extremely upset that he couldn't "ride the sheep" and cried and cried, especially when everyone else got to go. The lady there kept telling him that he was too little and that his arms probably couldn't even go around the sheep's neck. (But I think the little information about him being too small kind of closed his ears to whatever else she had to say) Joseph actually won the mutton bust in his age group the second time he tried it! The longest time for the day (even for the eleven year olds) was like 9.(something) seconds. Joseph rode for 11.3! He did awesome! I have tried to put the video of the mutton bust on here, but I can't get it to work, so these are all the pictures that I have. Matt and I were so proud of them for getting out there! It was quite scary and intimidating for them, but they really overcame their fears!
