The school had a dance in the evening this last week. When we first went in nobody was dancing except for some man and his daughters. My kids were shy at first and just wanted to sit down, but eventually they warmed up and were having a great time! I think that Joseph was a tad bit embarrassed that I was out there too, (although quite a few parents were) but when I started doing the running man, he shielded his eyes and groaned.."MO-OM!" and turned and began walking away. That was when I started doing the run around with my arms and chasing after him saying "What Joseph? I got the moves! I got the moves!" In which he laughed and ran away, leaving me and my moves to dance with Kimball and Rebecca. When they called for a slow dance with a parent, I was holding Rebecca in my arms and with one arm I was reaching out to hold her hand. She stopped me short, saying "No Mom!" and squeezed her arms around my neck and snuggled her cheek next to mine. I guess that's what the younger generation expects with a slow dance now, because we won a prize for the best slow dancing! She was so proud! We all had a blast! I don't know where they really learn their dance moves from, because Kimball was trying to break dance in the middle of the dance floor, and I know for a fact that I never do that at home! I don't ever remember dancing being such a workout before! I guess I wasn't doing it holding one or two kids as well. All the kids came home saying how much fun it was. These are great times. PS...Rebecca is the little girl in the dark skirt, swinging her hips.
